Moving to Brasilia...any suggestions for a smooth trip?

My wife is from Brasilia, she and I(an American) are moving there to be near her family. Anyone familiar with the process of moving to Brazil, or info on the city of Brasilia?

Well, Brasilia is a good city to live, but has some problems, like drugs, violence and traffic
